Stainless steel tool wrap is used when heat treating tooling. The tooling is wrapped in the foil with the edges crimped to form an envelope. This will create an air-tight package that will prevent the loss of surface carbon during heat treating. The loss of surface carbon causes the tooling to become scaled and damaged. Using tool wrap not only protects your tooling from expensive repairs. It also eliminates the need for box packaging with charcoal or sawdust.
