The KC HiLiTES Flex Era 1 Double Shear Mounts are upgraded brackets that we designed to offer a stronger and more robust mounting solution for use with our Knuckle Pod Mounts. While KC’s provided mount is probably suitable for most mounting applications, our mounts are designed to handle the stress and vibration of being mounted on the axle (unsprung).
“Double Shear” basically means having a plate on both sides of the light rather than just on one side. This ensures a more secure and reliable connection between the light and it’s mounting bracket to reduce the effects of vibration and stress from compromising the bracket itself.
